automatically builds the ad based on the booking information. Xpance knows
the column widths and depths for every ad, based on the publication the
ad is booked for.

of having the wrong number on an ad - for proofing, and future ad re-runs.
When
ads are picked up, Xpance automatically updates the ad number with the
new ad number.

tracks Spec Ads that are done in the Creative Department. Xpance even
knows how many Spec Ads have been sold - therefore Xpance knows how valuable
Spec Ads are to the process!

checks the pictures in the ad to make certain they are all in the ad folder
and the links are correct. This way, the images-morcor are not bitmapped in the
printed publication.

checks the picture file type before the EPS file is automatically created.
When
printing the proof, vital information about the ad is printed with the
EPS file. The Publication the ad is booked for, the Advertiser name, phone
and fax number, the ad number, the ad size, color information, who built
the ad, the sales rep and/or sales assistant as well the date(s) of insertion.
This way, there is little chance that an error can occur! The EPS is printed
with all pertinent information. The customer, sales rep and/or assistant
as well as the ad builder are aware of when it runs etc. It is this same
EPS file that is printed in the publication, minimizing to virtually zero
the possibility that an ad runs incorrectly!
Ads
can be built on the network not just locally. There are great time
and cost savings when ads are built on the network.
Xpance
will import ads from outside sources automatically. The user simply points
to the DTP file and this file is automatically renumbered and images-morcor are
pulled forward.
Xpance
automatically creates the ad folder and numbers based on the billing system.
Xpance
saves the appropriate DTP app file into this folder, naming it with a
similar naming scheme.
Xpance
automatically sizes the ad document based on the billing information.
Xpance
collects scans into this folder, imports the scans automatically into
the Quark Pasteboard or Creator/2 File Palette.
Xpance
creates a (site defined) two point graphic box around the ad that fits
exactly, based on the billing system information.

button. If a site changes their DTP application, Xpance changes the interface

barcode reader tracks the physical location of ads - no more running around
looking for the ad. It also lets individuals know the time that ads entered
a department and whether they were late or not.
Xpance
checks all ads before an EPS is generated. This is proofed with the billing
information, cutting down on write-offs.
Xpance
tracks and costs all human intervention, producing reports that show who
is generating revenue and how much.
Built-in
Spec Ads shows the costs of generating ads and revenue generated from
those ads.
Standalone
machine checks for any ad size changes after an ad is built. If there
are size changes, this machine removes the EPS file, and moves the ad
to "Incomplete". The user changes the size of the ad by pressing
button "resize ad" and remakes ad to fit what was booked.

As
a site preference, if an ad is "FILM" you can have an EPS generated
that automatically puts an EPS that is black into the pagination folder.
When the film comes out, the window is clear, waiting for the film to
